sorry for trying to interrupt so much this episode. won't do it again

Stephanie said...

We got to where we weren't interrupting with 4. You throw a 5th in there and of course we will interrupt.

Emily said...

well I don't know if it was just the fact that there was five people overall. As always, when you add an extra person when you're used to a certain amount, there's going to be some cut offs. I should have been a better producer and told everyone, icnluding me,to stop and go back for a cleaner cut

Still proud of the title, though.

well i do renimber editing out alot of sutff when I wasa ble to take on tracks. Sometimes I'd interupt, and I could make my own track scilent. Editing four tracks together, with John's microphone, and a echo on steph's end was like torture. I had to sti down and take out everytime John wasn't talking lol

I don't know, this still might be my favorite episode yet next to space cases lol (I was not to crazy about the robots episode...I liked it, and I don't know why, it just was not one of my favoorites)

wait forget everything I say. I think Ijust liketd this episode because it had an hour and 40 minutes of raw audio I chopped to about an hour and fifteen minutes lol (it was hard to take the brown blob part out but I sitll have it in here so maybe that'll be a exscuse to put out a deleted scenes...to hot for podcasting one year special....

Does anyone really want to hear that? lol

Why do I forget the brown blob comment? Hmm... anyway the show sounded pretty darn good. Now I have to edit two podcasts myself. WORD UP!

DUDES and DUDETTES - what an awesome episode! Maybe it was reliving some of the funniest film moments from my youth (with Airplane etc...) but you guys were definitely on-your-game (not that you aren't usually :) )

Emily -
in my slow quest to catch up on my Podshock listening, heard you call in again (on the Sylvester McCoy review episode) - excellent! You may actually inspire me to finally get off my ass and actually call into one of their shows one of these days - lol.

Eineblitz.. a pen. That phrase haunts my dreams. Oh and Chris - I just got what your avatar is, and where it's from. I piss my pants everytime I see it, now. If only Michael's bomb HAD gone off...

Airplane! Police Squad! Top Secret! One of my favourite non-ZAZ parody films is "Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood".

Rat Race is watchable - I agree about the Lovitz character and that infamous set piece - genius. Cuba plays too broad but is still entertaining. The ending is a bit naff I'll admit.

David A Dein was a good guest.

One of the many things I forgot to say during the show was regarding the lesser known fact that years before The Naked Gun, the team were hoping to salvage the work done on Police Squad and turn it into a film, using clips from the show added into the framework of a court case.

There are some widescreen shots of a couple of courtroom scenes on the DVD but the finished article was never mde.

Also, Airplane! was what came out of the plan for The Kentucky Fried Movie 2, which would have seen it as the long "Fistful of Yen"-type parody, while also being surrounded by other sketches.

BIG JIM SLADE!

I remember reading a review of Airplane bY Rex Reed in the NY Daily News way back when. He savaged it but when he described what he thought were unfunny scenes I laughed. His terrible review made me go see this movie.

Thanks again for the promo play.
Jim

"Nick"... What does that mean?
Oh, nothing. My dad thought of it while he was shaving.

"You see, a year ago I was close to perfecting the first magnetic desalination process. So revolutionary, it was capable of removing the salt from over 500 million gallons of seawater a day. Do you realize what this could mean to the starving nations of the Earth?"

"Wow … They’d have enough salt to last forever!"

Just catching up on old episodes guys! I was listening to the trailer for "Dolomite" (sp?) and I could not stop laughing. I don't even need any video for it to be funny! I'd love to suggest a topic too: "kid" films that adults enjoy too. I hesitate to say family films, but maybe. Films like "The Incredibles," any of the Spiderman movies, "Transformers," etc. Maybe you wouldn't say those are "kid-friendly" films, but my boys have seen them and love them. Ciao all!

I also forgot to mention that John Landis, Joe Dante, Carl Gottlieb, Peter Horton, and Robert K. Weiss made an unofficial sequel to the Kenticky Fried Movie called "Amazon Women on the Moon" in 1987. It's pretty funny and features the return of Samuel L. Bronkowitz.

In fact in france the films title is Hamburger Film Sandwich, and was treated as the sequel to the film.

For some reason that one never appealed to me, but I can put it in whatever the UK's feeble equivalent to Netflix calls its "queue".

I believe it's a "rental list".

And as my brain is wrong, I kind of see that as "lentil wrist".

Duh - thanks, Steph.

Automated noise reduction in Audacity:

Zvarri!

So it's similar to noise reduction with a noise print in Sony Sound Forge.

More effective than a noise gate, then, which would only reduce sound in the parts without talking.

Just had to throw in one of my favorite funny lines from Naked Gun...

"Hey! It's Enrico Polazzo!"

Chris JC said...

"Everywhere I look, something reminds me of her..."

Oddly, with the later films, the ZAZ team speak of relying more greatly on visual humour to aid overseas sales, but the Naked Gun films have some cracking good dialogue.
